The Poncha Font logo is a bold, playful and modular typographic identity created using the custom-designed Poncha typeface, affectionately described as “the unofficial typeface of Madeira Island.” The entire wordmark is built solely with the font itself, showcasing its geometric structure, vibrant rhythm, and expressive forms.
Inspired by Madeira’s natural beauty, cultural identity and bold new branding, the logo feels fresh, tropical, and rooted in place. With overlapping shapes, circular cuts and strong colour contrasts in greens and aquas, it evokes both landscape and movement, like nature and design in harmony.
This project is a perfect example of typography as branding: the logo is not just made with a typeface, it’s a celebration of the typeface. From font to identity, everything is intentional, flexible and ready to represent a modern, design-forward Madeira.
